I would not be where I am today if it were not for NoBS. Everything I am I owe to James, Rob and the rest of my NoBS ‘family.’ I have learned the ins-and-outs of my camera, the finer points of business and everything I know about camera room technique from NoBS.

I have been in business for 5 years, and 4 of them have been with NoBS. In the time I have been on the forum I have seen weekend warriors become a force to reckon with in the entire industry.

NoBS is full of the Movers and Shakers in this world. NoBS is the place for those who want to take their photography and business to the top.

THIS WAS MY FIRST SITE THAT INSPIRED ME INTO REAL PHOTOGRAPHY.WE DO NOT HAVE ANYBODY WITH THIS KIND OF A SITE WITH FULL OF RESOURCES FROM MY PART OF THE WORLD (SOUTH EAST ASIA). I PAY LITTLE TO GET MORE. THANKS TO YOU GUYS, MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

You may be reading this and wondering if all this talk is genuine, or if it is just a bunch of hype. I had the same reaction when I first saw a video for the NoBs site. I can assure you that there is no hype! It is a fantastic place to interact with other photographers, not to mention the great videos, Photoshop actions, and printed material that is there for all members!

Got a question? You can get an answer.

Got a problem? There are a lot of people ready to help.

Need to be inspired? Lot’s of that going on, too.

So what are you waiting for? Join one of the greatest places on internet - and that’s NoBs!

NoBs is really the place on the net where I feel the most “Love”.

If you want to learn, it’s the place.

If you want to teach your love of photgraphy, I think it’s the place too.

Kudos to Rob, James and all the community behind them!

Much much love to all of you…

  5. Gail Kenney on January 22nd, 2008 4:15 pm

One of the most informative and innovative photography forums on the net. Rob and James have been instrumental in helping all of new and veteran photographers refine their craft and keep the learning curve going.

The networking and sharing that occurs on this forum are invaluable to me in growing as a photographer and helping me double my business in just over two years.

Keep it up.. and if you aren’t a member… you should be. Rob and James have organized a yearly convention “Inferno” since 2006 where we actually got to meet each other with fabulous speakers, seminars and training sessions.

    You Go, NoBS…

NoBS exemplifies internet learning at its best - it is a community in the truest sense of the word - all levels are embraced and no one puts themselves above anyone else, in action or in word - best value for the money I’ve ever spent!

NOBS is the reason my studio sales went up over 75% in one year. I’m taking my husband, three kids, my four parents and myself on a round trip to Walt Disney World including rooms, park tickets, meals and plane tickets for one week because of my success this past year which I attribute to NOBS! And yes, I’m a stay-at-home mom, too! To date, I’ve referred four photographers to this site and they love it!

  8. Rod C on January 20th, 2008 7:01 pm

This is one of the best forums out there. The people on this site are incredible and very helpful - family really. They want you to succeed. And the tutorials, downloads from basic to the most advanced is absolutely the best anywhere. If you had to buy it all it would cost 100’s no 1,000’s of dollars. I have been on the forum for 4 months and still have not been through all of the information.

  9. Cindy Shaver, gurlzrok on January 20th, 2008 6:45 pm

NoBS is a great source for those who are motivated to improve their photographic skills. The tutorials are amazing, the forums are friendly and helpful, and the downloads are abundant. I am constantly checking in to see what everyone is doing and reading the great tips everyone has to offer from lighting to business development.

  10. Rob Oresteen on January 20th, 2008 4:27 pm

At NoBS you can get a sense of traction for your photography. Every comment you have read here is true.

For $20.00 you can have access to literally $1,000.00’s of dollars worth of information.

NoBS is the epitome of OVER DELIVERING.

  11. Michael Lunny on January 20th, 2008 4:23 pm

No Bs? You’ll never experience this type of learning in any class room.
The volume of knowledge and the friendliest people you’ll ever want to meet.
When I first came to No Bs I thought I was a good photographer. Now I know I’m a better photographer with all the help and support I got here.
    Thanks No Bs..

  12. Judy on January 20th, 2008 4:04 pm

NoBS is the brainchild of two fantastic photographers … James Hodgins and Rob Provencher. The two of them are genius’. They’ve provided a forum for the photographer that is not only friendly and a community with heart, but also a place to grow and learn in this crazy business called photography.

Kudos to my two good friends!! :)

  13. Jamie on January 18th, 2008 10:31 pm

I don’t have words to describe NoBS.. it’s wonderful beyond any expection a new photographer could ever have. I’ve only been there a few months and I’ve learned and grown so much already. It is truly an invaulable resource for any photographer. You are immediatley welcomed and inspired beyond anything you could imagine. If you want to be a photographer, if you already are a photographer, or if you maybe someday want to give it a try you need to come to this site. It’s priceless.

  14. Cara on January 18th, 2008 9:41 pm

I am so glad I stumbled upon NoBS a few months ago. The things I’m learning on this site alone are going to allow me to open the business of my dreams 6 months earlier!

  15. Jennifer Gaudette on January 18th, 2008 9:21 pm

No question has gone unanswered!! So far everything and anything I’ve ever wanted to know about photography has been quickly available, It is such a welcome and wonderful learning environment. The professionals on this site are so full of knowledge and expertise they are something to look up to and aspire to. I consider everything i’ve achieved so far I owe to the help and idea’s I’ve gotten from NOBS. I would never give up my membership, for anything! I check the site many times a day, and there is always something new and exciting to see!! I have not tried any other forums and don’t feel the need to do so everything i’ve needed so far is on NOBS, The information and comfort of knowing there is someone there to guide you and share their knowledge is priceless.

  16. Dan Berres on January 18th, 2008 9:12 pm

NoBS is the only site I use period…

  17. Mike Marquis on January 18th, 2008 8:50 pm

NoBs is my favorite photography forum, bar none. There are tons of good advice and helpful members there. If you need portrait advice, need some marketing info, or want to discuss the latest camera or lens all you have to do is post about it. There are members from all aspects of professional photography. And it is a great place for beginners to learn the business of photography. There really is a good balance of beginners, intermediates, and working pros on NoBs. The site prides itself on being helpful and not playing favorites. There are no dumb questions and members will never flame you for asking anything. It is a professional environment, there is no profanity, no cut downs, only real useful discussions. And the downloads section is worth the price alone. The workflow actions and tutorials will advance your photography by years if you had to learn it all alone. I used to go to a lot of photo conventions, but being a member here is like having a convention on your computer all of the time because of all the information at your fingertips. I was a working pro before I joined NoBs and I remain a member because of the wealth of information here and the ability to network with other photographers. NoBs is highly recommended.

  18. Venus Jones on January 18th, 2008 5:21 pm

NOBS is by far the best photography forum on the web. I can’t say enough about how great the members are. They have taught me so much. I had a love for photography before joining NOBS but now it has become a passion and a successful business for me. I honestly can’t say enough about it. It is a gold mine of information that will take your photography to the next level.

  19. Danielle on January 18th, 2008 3:45 pm

I happened to stumble across the NoBS website about 2 years ago. I was just starting to get into photography. Since joining, I now opened a new studio and am busy enough to go full time. All because of NoBS, they have instructional videos that are educational as well as hilarious. The atmosphere is like a giant family and everyone shares and wants others to grow and learn with them.
You cannot afford not to be a member!!!

  20. William Banish on January 18th, 2008 4:33 am

If you are serious about improving your photography skills and knowledge, you MUST join this forum. I had spent a ton of money on video tapes & books all of which delivered only a fraction of the improvement that I realized after only a few months on this forum. The free exchange of knowledge and ideas is awesome!

  21. Chuck Thompson on January 18th, 2008 3:42 am

What a welcoming and wonderful place. No question is too small or situation too hard to get help on.

I am a degreed photographer that has shot all over the world for years and then put a 10 year break between film and digital.

I am learning and sharing everyday. I can’t imagine doing without this site. It has saved me 10 years of learning. Now how much is that worth?

  22. Joshua Barry on January 18th, 2008 3:27 am

Everything you see on my website is because of NOBS.

They have made me what I am today. Everything above me in the other posts are all true true true….maybe even understated at that. It’s a megaplex of information.

In less than 5 short months of membership there I have been able to take my part time business, quit my job and make it a full time business and love. I still have SOOOOOOOOO much more growing to do and there is not enough time to take on everything in here at once. So go slow and implement things as you can. You can’t fail here.

  23. Marti and Jeff Fay on January 18th, 2008 1:17 am

This is, by far, the most informative and helpful resource! We have gotten invaluable help and advice on all aspects of the business and are truly grateful for the support we have received.

  24. Jillian Bickle on January 18th, 2008 1:12 am

There is no way I would be accomplishing as much as I am as a photographer if it wasn’t for this site and the people on it. It is AMAZING!! Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I can’t believe how much I learn each week! There is always something new on the forum, it continues to blow my mind away!! You’re missing out if you are not part of it.

  25. Tristin Godsey on January 18th, 2008 1:02 am

NoBS is the first site I check in the morning, it’s usually the last I have up before I turn off the computer at night. If it’s photography related, you WILL find it there!!

Best money I spend every month!!!!

  26. KrisG on January 18th, 2008 12:59 am

NOBS is by far the best photography forum that I have ever seen or been a part of. I have tried several other paid membership sites only to have inflated egos and impatience with beginner questions zap my confidence and send me packing in the other direction. The members at NOBS are different. They are led by two of the most open, honest, and helpful professional photographers out there- Rob Provencher (www.westmountphotography.com) and James Hodgins (www.hodginsphotography.com). They insist on a certain level of genuine concern about contributing to each others growth and they lead by example by providing absolute NOBS, nitty gritty, this is how it’s done video demos, actions, marketing information, etc. All of this is done in a direct, honest, and helpful style. Think about your favorite teacher in school. How much you liked that person for their teaching style and their attitude? Well, that’s Rob and James. And the NOBS community follows that lead by pitching in and answering questions (often repeated when another new member has the same question but that’s okay), offering ideas, and more. Many of the NOBS members are more than close friends to me now. They are like family. And they are my support system and cheerleaders when things go wrong and when I celebrate each success along the way in my journey as a small business owner. What could be cooler than that? And the monthly membership fee will pay for itself about 100 times over in the first year alone. REALLY. I will absolutely tell you that NOBS has put over $40k more income in my pocket in the past two years. How? Better pricing strategies, marketing information, faster workflow, etc. I went from scraping by to starting to make money with my business to taking it full time next year. NOBS will get you there faster than any other paid membership site out there and they will do it with a positive attitude, helpful members, and more bang for your buck in content than you could ever imagine.

I hope to see you introduce yourself in the new members section soon!

This is the first place any new or seasoned photographer should visit and join if they want to improve their craft.

    The tutorials are great.
The members are extremely helpful to one another.
The constant exchange of ideas and methods and critiquing is a constant encouragement.

  28. adoreblog on January 17th, 2008 11:17 pm

This forum is the best on the web! The people are friendly, fun, energetic and super creative! Every time I visit NOBS I learn something super cool! This website is a must-have for anyone that wants to learn the ins and outs of photography and stay on top of current trends

  29. Paco on January 17th, 2008 11:14 pm

I cannot say enough of this site. Some of the greatest photographers around the world are in there, willing to share their best techniques with anybody who asks. Their download section is loaded with helpful tutorials about lighting, weddings, portrait poses I mean… you name it is there, and if it isn’t, ask for it and it’s only a matter of time before it’s available.
Jump in, you won’t regret it.

No BS is absolutely AWESOME! The feeling of family is beyond compare. Helpful, educational, inspiring, and so very supportive.

  31. Anthony Franklin on January 17th, 2008 11:03 pm

NoBs is by far the best forum for photographers I have seen ! Beginners and professionals alike, all stand to learn and benefit from the wealth of knowledge that can be found here.

If you’re not on there, you’re just MISSING the opportunity of a lifetime, to become the photographer you were meant to be. The training is invaluable !

  32. Anonymous on January 17th, 2008 10:11 pm

I have difficulty expressing what NOBS means to me, the growth curve has been beyond my hopes and dreams.

  33. Sarah on January 17th, 2008 10:08 pm

This is the best photography forum I have found out there. I was a mom just looking to get into photography to photography my son, that was 2 years ago and because of the forum, I’m now opening a 3,500 sq foot retail studio space and going full-time. I’m living my dream job and I have to thank NoBs for guiding me in the right direction!!!

  34. Gabi on January 17th, 2008 10:00 pm

An excellent and complete resource from A to Z for photographers of every skill level. Membership is a must.

  35. Anonymous on December 29th, 2007 4:52 am

By far the absolute best forum for learning photography. My skills as a photographer have quadrupled in very little time. There is so much help from countless professional photographers available on this forum. People are kind, generous, and willing to share their knowledge - I wouldn’t give it up for anything!

  36. Peter on December 18th, 2007 9:22 pm

The web is too big and there is too little time, so I have cut back my participation in on-line forums down to just a few.

NoBs is one of those that I regularly still spend time on. Lots of information to be had for the asking and a friendly eclectic group of denizens.

  37. Mikhail Thomas on December 18th, 2007 9:00 pm

This is one of the BEST photography resource sites out there! Best monthly investment any photographer can make!
